When they braid in extension to hair, how does the extension stay in?

Wouldn't it unravel out at some point?

It is braided(connected) to your hair. You would use two sections of the extension and one section of your hair. It depends on the texture of the hair as to how long it will stay in. There are many techniques used in this process but that is basically how its done.

The base of the braid is a loop that is held in by the braid - very secure.

When a braid extension is applied to your hair it is interlocked with your own hair as part of the braid making it secure
