i want to crimp my hair for promotion but whenever i put my hair in a french braid the night before and sleep in it, it always turns out all frizzy. any suggestions?

The braiding method is easiest if you don't want to buy a crimping iron. Okay, depending on how much "crimpage" you want in your hair is how much you will braid your hair. If you want waves, then I suggest that you just do the one French braid. If you want more waves, then braid it into four separate parts, and you really really want crimp hair, then you have to do many individual braids... either way whatever method you use you should put hair products on it the morning you take your braids out, even a spray on the night before. When you try to take them out, be very careful separating each part of the braid. Get SunSilk in the green bottle used primarily to decrease the frizziness. If not, you get get gel %26amp; water, or hairspray %26amp; water to put these strands in place. I find it easier to turn my head upside down and crunch it using my hands. That you you'll get volume all around your hair and not just the sides, it also takes away the parts you had when you first braided your hair. DON'T try to brush or comb it through, that's how you get the "I got eletricuted by the blowdryer look"!

Try this method on another day, not exactly the day of your promotion just to get the feel of it.

braid your hair (anykind of braid, but make sure you use all of the hair on your head), then rub gel into it and let it set for at least 15 minutes. then take it out. it should be pretty crimped!

Try taking a shower at night, then doing tiny braids and letting it stay in and take em out in the morning. Try this before the actual event so you can make sure it actually works on your hair and you can look good. Or just buy a crimping iron, I have one too.
