It is Not that hard but you have to really practice so it isnt crooked. the best way to learn is to do it on someone else. Then when you know get a mirror in front of you and behind you and practice. THe reason is it will take awhile to get use to looking at it backwards in a mirror and seeing which way to move your hands.

1. you take a section of hair at the top of your head.

I went to a festival the other day in Makanda, Illinois and this lady was making these new pony tail holders they are two lines of with beads connecting up and down. They actually make your hair into a french braid!

1. Take a 3-inch-long by 1-inch-wide section of your hair just above the forehead or behind your bangs. Divide the section into three even pieces.

2. Wrap your left thumb around the left section, palm facing front, fingers sticking straight up. Mimic the same posture on the right side, and let the middle section lie against the head.

3. Make a soft fist around the left section of hair, turning your hand so that your fingers rest on the head. Bring the section of hair in your right hand across the middle section and hook it with your left index finger.

4. Lead with the right thumb and cut about a 1-inch section of hair straight across the head, starting at the hairline and moving toward the middle section. Collect the middle section and pull all of the hair tight. The line of hair you collected should lie flat and smooth.

5. Make a soft fist with the right hand, fingers facing your scalp. Reach the right index finger over the middle section and hook the section of hair that's in your left fist. Pull it out gently, keeping a firm grip on the sections in your right hand.

6. Let the section in your left hand dangle. Lead with the left thumb and cut about a 1-inch section of hair straight across the head, collect the middle section, then pull all of the hair tight. Turn the fist so that your fingers face your scalp.

7. Extend your left index finger to hook the section of hair that's in your right fist. Continue until the braid is complete.

Tips:

Trust your fingers. They'll develop a sense of sight, allowing you to achieve the braid without using your eyes.

seperate ur hair into 3 parts like regular braids, but just towards the front of your head. do the three strands braiding, but stop after you've crossed them all. take a nother small chunk of hairfrom a lil farther back, and continue do these steps till ur hair is gone-- remember, it takes practice, but keep trying!! i didnt wanna go out in public after i first did my own!!

The easiest way is to practice on someones elses head first until you can get the 'picture' of hows its done in your head. That picture is what you will use to know what it will look like. But still your arms will get tired of being up in the air.

1.using your pointy fingers to seperate the hair in front of your ears..make a small tail on top of your head.

2.divide that into 3 sections. braid once

3.hold all hair strands tight. Grab another section of hair from the hair line and ad it into one of the 3 strands

4. braid again. And grab another section for the opposite side and combine it into another one of the 3 strands.

5. and on and on and on. Keep all srands tight and remember which strand has already been added to so you don't over load 1 strand makeing you lopsided.

Practice makes perfect. It'll take some time. But you'll get it.
