I am a person of color can i put a perm in my hair before i get braids?

Since I don't know what color you refer to - red, yellow, black or white - I am going to say: YES.

Get that perm then get braids, all while growing a proper mullet.

If u already have a curl to ur hair why bother with a perm and it will not make a difference for braids my daughter is of ethnic origan and when she has braids they straighten her hair first

If you perm your hair please wait 1 week before you put the braids in that is to much stress for your hair. You don't want there to be any damage to it. Perm, do a good deep condition, keep it oiled then in a week you will be ready for those braids.

Are you referring to a relaxer when you say perm? I hear alot of people of color say this. A perm curls your hair. A relaxer straightens it. I dont think its a good idea to do either. Like someone said earlier its too much stress for the hair. Wait until the braids are removed. maybe a couple of weeks after.

you should not perm your hair before braiding it it will make your hair pull out the hair needs some texture to be braided or else the braids will slide out much faster.

I strongly advise against it. One, bone straight hair will cause more "slippage" while braiding, and two, you won't be able to care for your relaxed hair while it is in braids, which will cause breakage. Not too mention, it would be a waste of money (the relaxer).

Don't do it. wait at least two weeks before and after. Your hair is fragile after being processed.
